There are many ginkgos, grapefruit trees, pomegranate trees, holly trees and other plants in the Xiling Residence Community. Every autumn, when the winds rise, the leaves fall, and the sanitation workers have to clean away the fallen leaves. However, from this winter on, the community has decided to keep the fallen leaves intact to simulate natural beauty.

　　The scenery of fallen leaves is beautiful, but it was once a dilemma whether to sweep the fallen leaves or not. On one hand, if the fallen leaves are left intact, they will mix with litter as many residents do morning exercises here. On the other hand, if they are cleaned up, the scenery will not be there and it is against the law that fallen leaves return to the roots. Qiu Yehong, one of the residents said: “the fallen leaves are the manifests of culture that should not be swept away.” To improve the environment, some improvements have been made to the infrastructure in the Xiling Residence Community, one of which is about the fallen leaves. The leaves will not be cleaned up until they begin to decay and gradually lose the appreciation value with the premise of environment protection.

　　The sanitation workers only sweep away the litter and keep the fallen leaves intact with care, and in only a few days, a pleasant picture appears with leaves and fruits on the trees, golden and red fallen leaves under the trees, and the residents singing, dancing and taking pictures at the central square.
