The applicants can sign up online from now on. The recruiting schemes in mainland announced by five universities in Hong Kong, such as The University of Hong Kong and Chinese University of Hong Kong, etcIn 2013, the University of Hong Kong is going to recruit about 300 students from 31 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions including Hubei Province and no quota limitation in regions. The tuition fee in the University of Hong Kong raises to 135,000 HKD next year, and accommodations and living expenses are about 40,000 HKD per year; abundant entrance scholarships will be offered to those mainland students who have particularly prominent scores with excellent comprehensive qualities. The Chinese University of Hong Kong is going to recruit about 300 students from the mainland, including 13 students in Hubei——5 students will be admitted to the arts and 8 students will be admitted to the sciences, which is consistent with last year’s. Hong Kong University of Science and Technology plans to recruit 150 students in mainland, which is the same scale as last year’s; no number limitation for recruiting students in Hubei, but students should be ranked according to their scores of College Entrance Examination and interview results. Meanwhile, City University of Hong Kong and Hong Kong Baptist University have already announced application time and recruiting phone number.
At present, it is known that universities in Hong Kong recruiting students based mainly on two modes: one is National College Entrance Examination for unified enrollment and the other one is the autonomous enrollment. The Chinese University of Hong Kong and City University of Hong Kong involve in unified enrollment, which enroll students before the first batch of admission. Examinees should write the name of university wanted at the place “admission in advance” when filling in the application form, and no need to apply separately for register and interview. If not enrolled, students will not be affected and can still be admitted to mainland key universities. Ten universities in Hong Kong, including The University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University , Hong Kong Baptist University etc., carry out autonomous enrollment by means of students’ independent applications, and recruiting students based on scores of College Entrance Examination and interview results. Generally, the enrollment ends before July, 7 every year.
According to incomplete statistics, there are altogether 31 students from Yichang have studied in Hong Kong since 2004.
