Yesterday, according to National Bureau of Statistics Investigation Team in Yichang, under the influence of rising prices of clothing and industrial consumer goods, CPI of Yichang urban area rose by 3.7 percent year-on-year, 0.2 percent month-on-month, picked up a 0.7 percent increase compared with it last month.

　　In November, food prices in urban area went up by a year-on-year growth of 4.5 percent, with only 0.1 percent increase than that of last month, of  which beef prices climbed by 2.6 percent; meat by-products prices, up 6.7 percent; fresh fruits prices, up 2.8 percent; fresh vegetables prices, down by 2.1 percent than that of  last month.

　　On November 29th, our city came to winter from meteorological characteristic. In this month several large temperature drops caused seasonal rising clothing prices. Clothing prices of urban area in November had a year-on-year increase of 6.5 percent, jumped by 2.3 percent than that of last month, driving the CPI up by 0.2 percent compared with that of last month. With new fashionable winter clothes against the cold coming to the market, their prices went up, thus clothing prices of urban area increased by 2.6 percent more than that of last month. Under the influence of declining international gold prices, jewelry prices of urban area in December dropped by 2.4 percent compared with that of last month. On November 16th, our government pushed the price of oil down, so compared with that of last month, petrol and diesel prices respectively fell by1.6 percent and 3.2 percent.
