It was informed from Yichang Municipal Bureau of Sports that the activity New Year long-distance race of Yichang, the 29th one of its sort, is planned to be held on December 31 with some ten thousand participants. The 5000-meter-long race will start beginning at Jiangnan Avenue of Dianjun District on the morning of the day. The long-distance race for the individual participants will be canceled this year, is available for participants in groups just.

　　In recent years, the long-distance race for New Year of each year has been in compliance with the pace of urban construction in form and scale. The activity is designed to interpret the theme of “Advocating National Fitness & Promoting City Development” of these activities. It is reported that the long-distance race of this year is to celebrate the reconstruction of Jiangnan Avenue” in Dianjun District. The race will be started exactly from before the entrance to the Moji Mountain Park with the gate ground of the governmental building of Dianjun District as turning point, and the length of the race route is 5,000 meters.

　　The procedure for group application has been initiated recently, and the applicants will be accepted for race that have kept doing physical exercises recently and whose sound physical state with ability of finishing the whole race can be proved by medical examination.
