“Laba” is celebrated on the 8th day of the 12th lunar month. On this day, people all over the country will cook and eat “Laba” Porridge-The Eight-Treasure Porridge, which is the most traditional and cultured custom. It is learned by the reporter from the Propaganda Department of the Xiling District Party Committee that the 7th Xiling Temple Fair will be scheduled on the January 19, which is the 8th day of the 12th lunar month. Distinct from the former ones, this Temple Fair is scheduled on the “Laba” for the practice of sacrificing porridge to gods and ancestors to wish for a peaceful life and a good harvest in the next year and the convenience of citizens to go to the Gufo Temple to pray and eat “Laba” Porridge.

　　The Xiling Temple Fair sponsored by party committee and the government of Xiling district has been held for 6 times. During the two-day temple fair on January 19 and 20, people not only can appreciate folk craft exhibition, paper-cutting, Spring Festival couplets, lantern riddles, strolling in the garden and other common activities that the former temple fairs had, but also can attend a new activity- "Offering Prayers Porridge "in the ancient Gufo Temple. It is reported that the activity will be from 9 to 9:30a.m on January 19.

　　According to Mr. Wang Jianfei, Director of Propaganda Department of the Xiling District Party Committee, there are cultural programs, such as cultural and artistic performances, calligraphy and photography, folk handicraft exhibitions, paper-cutting, Spring Festival couplets, lantern riddles, and other activities in the Children\' Park and "Offering Prayers Porridge" in the Gufo Temple. The opening ceremony will include four special performances - moral model recognition, instrumental music performance, the most beautiful community and the grid member talent performance.  There are also other activities such as folk handicraft exhibition, and calligraphy masters sending Spring Festival couplets and so on.

　　The Local Product Fair will be held at the Commercial Pedestrian Street on the Zhongshan Road. The National Antiques Fair will be held on the Square Road, and there will be nearly 300 antique stores open to the public.
