As a matter of fact, cloud computing technology is very common in our daily life, when watching mobile TV, Chatting online, or communicating with WeChat (a very popular mobile phone text and voice messaging communication service developed by Tencent in China), we are applying cloud computing technology, which is becoming a new popular technology among numerous ones occurring during the recent years, such as personal computers in the 1980s and the internet in the 1990s since it was taken as a newly developed high-tech industry during the 12th Five-year Plan period.

　　With the inauguration of Hubei Three Gorges Cloud Computing Center at the end of 2012, the project of the most advanced and hottest technology of cloud computing settle in the Yichang High-tech Industries Development Zone. As introduced, the center was established as a joint company on the basis of cooperation of three parties including Sugon Company, No.710 Institute of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation and Hubei Radio & Television Network Corporation, and its establishment marks the commencement of employment and development of this technology in transformation of Yichang into a digital and smart city.

　　“The biggest function of this Cloud Computing Center is to reduce the information operation costs of government, enterprises or even personal consumers,” says a chief in charge of Office of Yichang Municipal E-government Affairs.

　　The technological project consists of a core cloud computing center, a city-wide disaster recovery center and several industrial clouds or mixed clouds. Though the center is mainly set to supply cloud for the governmental departments, its biggest customer groups are various enterprises.

　　It is significant and far-reaching for Sugon Company as the leading enterprise in the industry to settle in Yichang, which will play a vital role in the development for the intelligentialization, informatization and promotion of e-government affairs handling ability of Yichang,” says Huang Chuping, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Hubei Provincial Committee and the municipal party secretary of Yichang City.

　　In addition, the center can also facilitate the integration of informatization and industrialization, and play its supporting role in multiple industries of software, high-tech service and cultural creation. Meanwhile, cultivation of these industries in turn will greatly promote the development of small and medium-sized enterprises and stimulate self-employment among graduates to expand social employment.
