The “colorful forest” plan, according to Moji Mountain Park administrative officer on February 25th, will be taken to reconstruct Moji Mountain Forest Park. Citizens of Yichang can launch voluntary tree-planting to build a "colorful forest" which will add a lot to the beauty of Moji Mountain.
Moji Mountain Forest Park, boasting 20 plant families, nearly 300 kinds of plants and forest coverage rate as high as 95 percent, is "a green urban landmark "of Yichang. However, most of the plants belong to natural secondary forest with low quality.
Reporter Gong Changjun says that, voluntary tree-planting activities are welcomed to beautify Moji Mountain Forest Park. It is planned that arbor, shrubs, evergreen and deciduous plants, according to the mountain terrain pattern, will be grown with red flowers as the leading color, mixed with red and yellow leaves. A well-arranged colorful forest park with distinct seasons will be constructed. The trees to be planted this time include hinese flowering crabapple, ginkgo, Oriental cherry, Loropetalum chinense, crape myrtle, photinia x, wintersweet and machilus ichangensis. The cover plants will be mainly ophiopogon, green blue and sunflower. The theme park of the “colorful forest” construction zone is Cherry Garden.
