The new city consists of seven districts: Xiaoxita, Pinghu, Xiba, Dianjun, Downtown, Wujiagang and Aijia, among which the Downtown area, Dianjun District and the East Railway Station (Wujiagang) are the heart.

　　Yesterday, the reporter learned from the Yichang Planning Bureau that the new city is planned to establish the old town center, Dianjun city center and the eastern city center as three core zones to develop and make the integration of the eastern district and the Aijia District.

　　It is known that the new city is planned to cover an area of 200 square kilometers, of which the constructive field is about 100 square kilometers, including the Expressway for over dam transportation, the Hu-Yu Expressway, the Han-Yi Expressway, the Bolinhe Road, the Huaxi Road, the Heyi Road, the area along the Yangtze River to the south of Niuzhaping.

　　Three Circles Lay a Metropolis Frame

　　It has been revealed that three circles consist of the city zone, the center zone and the city core zone which will be established as a city frame, forming the overall structure which is expanding along the river. Make a center zone circle and a core zone circle develop simultaneously is to promote the construction of new Yichang, build the city center of Dianjun and East Railway Station, promote city development to the east and south, and construct the three core zones with the old city center. To delimit the city core zone is a practical measure of planning implementation which gathers Yichang superior resources, tourist attractions and center function and set up important public facilities. By the new planning, Yichang City will be more lively and attractive. In range of city core district, key area will be selected to demonstrate the metropolis image of Yichang riverside and construct the core zone on both sides covering an area of 53 kilometers (including the surface area of the river) to brighten the city.

　　Building Seven City Core Zones

　　The development on both sides of the Yangtze River is inevitable to follow the law of city development, integrating each function section, constructing the city core zone, and establishing riverside metropolis.

　　According to the planning scheme, the city core zone will be defined along both sides of the river, of which East City Road is in the north, Dianjun 1st Road in the south, Gezhouba in the west and Huaxi Road in the east.

　　City core zone covers the key function centers on both sides of the river, linking Pinghu Peninsula, Xiba Island, the old city of Yichang, Wujiagang District, Dianjun District and Aijia District. These seven districts will create a city core vigor zone along riversides, thus quicken the forming of the vigor city center of Yichang.

　　According to the recommendation of the officer in charge of the planning, the city core zone includes the area of Xiaoxita, Pinghu, Xiba, Dianjun, Downtown, Wujiagang and Aijia, which contains the most comprehensive function areas, the most beautiful environment, the most potential areas of urban development both at present and in the future. This plan will be the priority among priorities in the future city construction.

　　Yichang East Railway Station Area and Aijia District Will Be Developed as a GroupWith the construction of Jiangnan express way and Wujiagang Bridge, Aijia will join the City Rapid Transit Circle and become a part of the city center. Aijia District locates on the opposite bank of future Wujiagang center; the obvious geographical advantage will make the Yichang East Station Area and Aijia District to become the key part in future exploitation.

　　According to Ye Xiaomei, it is said that the new zone planning scheme will divide the programming area into eight functional parts on the basis of geography condition and road planning. There are Yichang East Logistic Area, which undertakes functions of logistic and storage, business affairs service, commercial complement and comprehensive dwelling; River Bank Dwelling Area, which undertakes functions of living and commercial retail complement. The Station Business Area is in charge of transportation, comprehensive services, commercial facilities and business service. Chuangzhi High-tech Headquarters in Bolinhe area is predominantly for high-tech research and development, creative industries, and living services. Wujiagang Culture Area takes on the functions of citizen education, comprehensive business service, culture and entertainment, leisure and dwelling. Administrative Center Area is committed to the administrative work, commercial business, living and public service. Yanshouba Ecological Island serves as a featured outdoor activities and ecological tourism. Aijia Ecological Leisure Living Area undertakes functions of living and tourism.
