On March 25, Yichang Municipal Party Committee Office and Municipal Government Office issued a document titled “Implementation Plan for a Tidy Yichang in 2013”. According to the plan, a series of improvement work will be carried out in Yichang including greening of city roads, road lighting projects, comprehensive management of buildings, shop signs and advertising renovation in order to build Yanjiang Avenue, Yunji Road, Dongshan Avenue, Jucheng – Baisha Road, Chengdong Avenue and Jichang Road into an ecology landscape.

　　Greening and Replanting of Two Roads

　　In addition, Yichang will carry out its own landscape greening of city roads in accordance with criteria of those megacities and launch greening & replanting of Wuhan-Yichang Expressway and Chengdong Avenue, thus to increase forest land and enrich in colors.

　　Therein, the Municipal Government will take measures such as ecological conservation, vegetation restoration, greening increase and planting structure adjustment in visible mounts on both sides of the Wuhan-Yichang Expressway (Three Gorges Airport-Fazhan Avenue) to create a natural multi-color and multi-layer effect. Building facades alongside the Expressway will be painted to form a clean and tidy urban landscape. As to the Chengdong Avenue (Yichang Dong Railway Station - Roundabout in Development Zone), the emphasis will be mainly put on the greening projects to make comprehensive improvement of the mountains and open space alongside the avenue by planting arbors, bushes and grass to establish a multi-layered and colorful landscape.

　　Improvement of 122 Building Facades

　　Yichang will start a comprehensive improvement of 122 buildings, among which 4 illegal building will be dismantled. Apart from that, the building facades will be painted alongside the Yanjiang Avenue, Yunji Road, Dongshan Avenue, Jucheng – Baisha Road, Chengdong Avenue, Jichang Road, burglary-resisting windows and external units of air conditioners will be made tidy, ill-favored balconies and awnings will be cleared up.

　　Brightening up 35 Buildings

　　Yichang Government will brighten up 35 buildings including China Maritime Safety Administration, Angel Yeast Co., Ltd, New Bund and Exhibition Center in Chengdong New District. The Brighting project will mainly rely on road lighting while punctuating the effect of contour light and spotlight of high-rise buildings, which may create multi-layered, multi-sided, dynamic yet static night urban scenery.

　　30 Construction Sites to be Reshaped

　　The Yichang municipal will also carry out comprehensive improvement of the shop signs and billboards alongside the roads to keep Yichang nice, neat and tidy. In order to make outdoor advertisement facilities look prosperous, beautiful and trendy, the advertisement is requested to undergo some changes like use of multi-media advertising, adopting of luminescent materials and appropriate use of colorful light source, to make Yichang beautiful during the day and bright during the night. Besides, it is required that 30 construction sites and proposed ones such as Jiangshanduojiao and Refrigeration House should be set hoardings with high standards no less than 4 meters.

　　All the projects should be completed by the end of October, except for the rebuilding project of Airport Road and the comprehensive improvement of buildings alongside the Dongshan Avenue.
