National Administration of Tourism and the State Administration for Industry and Commerce recently jointly issued the “Domestic One-day Tour Contract (model contract forms)”. It means that the domestic tourism "one-day tour" should not arrange designated shopping and other paid services. Reporters visited local tourism markets on March 25th, and were told that the “new regulations” will not affect “the one-day tour” business much in Yichang.

　　 Reimbursement will be available for the tourists in case the requested service is unmet. For example, if travel agents, tour guides and drivers implement any unauthorized actions such as shortening the visit time, leaving out required tourist attractions and cutting down on tourism services. Besides, they must pay as much as 20% of the total tour cost as the penalty for default. If arranging paid services individually, travel agents and tour guides and drivers should pay back in full all the money tourists are charged.

　　It is generally agreed in tourism that the new one-day tour contract mainly aims at the first-tier cities in China, which will not affect Yichang tourism market. According to reporters, the one-day tour attractions in Yichang include Gezhouba Dam--Three Gorges Dam-- Xiling Gorge, the Three Gorges Folk Custom Tour Site, Qingjiang Gallery and Chexi Natural Scenery Spot. As many travel agencies say that the one-day tour has never included shopping, so the influence caused by the new regulations is very little.

　　Tourism Administration Department also argues that although one-day tour is temporary, tourist need to sign formal contracts with travel agencies in order to preserve evidence for dealing with any controversy. (Reporter Wang Ying)
