March 27, was held the Cooperation Meeting of Yichang-Guangdong and Hong Kong. The meeting took place in Hong Kong, where Huang Chupin, the Member of Hubei Provincial Party Standing Committee and Municipal Party Secretary made a speech. He introduced Yichang to seventy enterprises of Guangdong and Hong Kong and sincerely invited those entrepreneurs to choose Yichang to invest and carry out more exchanges and cooperation in a wider range, wider fields and higher levels with the hope of realization of mutual benefit and common development.

Song Wenbao, the Deputy Mayor on behalf of Yichang government, signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with business representatives from China Resources, Hubei Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, China Everbright International Limited, Legions Group, Evergrande Group, Country Garden Holdings, China Vanke, Hoton Group, Singapore Fanren Investment Corporation and Guangdong Lin’ a Logistics Group. Meanwhile, representatives from Hong Kong Wantongyuan Biological Technology and Hongkong Runfa Group signed the agreement on investment projects with officials from Zhijiang City and Yiling District respectively. These enterprises will invest in various aspects in Yichang including the construction of the New District of Yichang, urban infrastructure, modern logistics, medical products, and clothing processing for years to come, with the agreed investment amount standing at 105 billion Yuan.

Hong Xiaoyong, Deputy Commissioner of Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region，and Wang Bingxin, Minister of Economic Affairs of Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region，have attended the promotion meeting and spoken highly of it. The promotion meeting was an efficent activity that attracts many famous entrepreneurs and many contracts have been signed. It is one of the signs that Yichang is an attractive and favored city by many famous entrepreneurs in Hong Kong.

Early this February, the provincial government approved the overall development plan of Yichang. Yichang government will build a new development area of 220 km2 which will be a breakthrough and carrier to speed up the process of turning the city into a modern megacity. The development plan was also the focus of the promotion meeting.

To speed up the construction of the Yichang New District, the government issued a document titled “Suggestions on Bringing Strategic Investors and Speeding Up Construction Programs” to provide a series program, such as a comprehensive development area in Pinghu Peninsula, an ecological area in Dianjun District, a central administrative area and a central business area. Entrepreneurs present at the meeting show great interest in the development of the Yichang New District. Huang Chuping says Yichang will create an ideal investment environment through best service, lowest costs and greatest benefits from the aspects of land, finance and planning so as to launch exchange and cooperation with insightful businessmen in wider areas and at higher levels, combine capitals, management, brands advantages in Hong Kong with resources, market and environment in Yichang, achieving a win-win situation and mutual development.

　　The Assistant President of HKTDC, Ye Ze’en, made a speech. He said that Yichang has brought fortune to Hong Kong. He proclaimed to pave a broader golden way seeking for the realization of mutual-benefit to enterprises both in Hong Kong and Yichang, and to expand the advantages of the service of Hong Kong to the central and western regions in mainland. The reporter learned from the meeting that in May this year, HKTDC will send an entrepreneur delegation to visit Yichang.

Wang Chuandong, Xie Junming, representatives of entrepreneurs presented at the meeting, said in their speech that Hubei Province and Yichang City is one of the key investment areas by entrepreneurs from Guangdong and Hong Kong, who are full of confidence to " the Yichang dream "and expect more from Guangdong - Hong Kong enterprises to invest in Yichang, promoting the cooperation to a higher level.

At the meeting, Song Wenbao,Member of Municipal Standing Committee, the Executive Vice Mayor, introduced the planning of Yichang New District. Other municipal leaders attended the meeting, including Ma Xuejun, Zhao Yanbo, Yuan Weidong, Zheng Xinghua, etc...
