Seamless Joint of Water and Land Travel in Three Gorges
2013-04-15 14:22:45 市政府办公室

The first domestic roll-roll sightseeing ship “Zhongbaodao” sailed from Zigui County to Fengjie County on April 4th. Nearly one hundred tourists drove their cars onto the ship and enjoyed their first driving trip in the Three Gorges. The trip to the Three Gorges in the Yangtze River has become a seamless joint of water and land travel.
“Zhongbaodao,” Cruise is 110 meters long and 19.2 meters wide. This four- star cruise has four floors, equipped with 636 seats and 110 parking spots.
The tourists enjoyed the Three Gorges scenic picture on the board, and then went to visit land attractions by car. The first opened line is from Zigui County in Yichang to Fengjie County in Chongqing, passing through Badong County and Wushan County, with nearly 160 km voyage in 5 hours. This line reduces 140 km compared with an auto driving from Zigui to Fengjie.
According to Zhang Chengguo, the deputy captain of “Zhongbaodao”, their first tourists mostly came from Anhui, Henan, and Hebei Provinces. Some self-driving tourists visited Qu Yuan’s Birthplace and the Bamboo Forest Beach, and then enjoyed the scenery of the Three Gorges on board. Kong Gang, the Deputy Director of Zigui County Cultural Tourism Bureau said, “The only way the former tourists came to travel to Zigui was by water, so they could only have a short stay in Zigui. Now tourists are able to have more transportation choices to travel to Zigui after roll-roll sightseeing ships are available. We will establish an auto travel base in Zigui County.” The roll-roll sightseeing ship is an innovation, enabling us to water-land travel to the Three Gorges, which is the highlight in the Three Gorges tourism.
