According the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Bureau of Yichang; He Xintian, Party Secretary of the National Animal Husbandry Station, said recently that in the promotion of high temperature biodegradable harmless disposal technology, Yichang Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Bureau has made a really good model for the harmless handling of dead livestock and poultry in large-scale livestock and poultry breeding. The other cities should learn from their experience, trace the research progress and give whole-hearted support. What He said shows that Yichang has made great achievements in the harmless disposal of dead livestock and poultry.
　　In the last three years, the accumulative investments from the Municipal Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department have totaled up to 2.95 million RMB. Seven high- temperature biodegradable disposal equipments have been purchased successively and 6 harmless disposal centers have been set up, which is pioneering in Hubei Province. Among them, 3 centers and 4 equipments are arranged in urban areas, while another 3 centers and 3 equipments are arranged in Yiling District. The sites of the project are respectively located in 6 designated slaughtering enterprises and large-scale farms such as Mingda Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Company, Shunaghui Food co., LTD, Fuiiangnan Food co., LTD, Sanhe Slaughterhouse  and Tianfeng Hoggery, Huimin Hoggery in Yiling District. The annual disposal amounts have reached around 2000 tons.  In the operation of the equipment in harmless proposal center, high-temperature biodegradable disposal have utilized equipment to dispose livestock with disease and livestock products and other wastes around 850 tons. With the application of the technology, it has played a powerful supporting role in preventing serious animal epidemics, ensuring the quality of livestock products, and safeguarding the public hygiene.
　　The Bureau plans to construct at least one High Temperature Biodegradable Disposal Center in each county this year. At present, this project has been under the plan of Dangyang City, Changyang County and Dianjun District.
