Five Cultural Relics of Yichang Added as National Relic Protection Units

  On May 3rd, five cultural relics were listed in The Seventh Batch of National Relic Protection Units published on the official website of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage. So far, there are fifteen national relic protection units in our city.

  The Seventh Batch of National Relic Protection Units totals 1,943 national relic protection units, among which forty-seven units merged into existing national relic protection units. The five cultural relics of our city consist of three ancient sites; Changyang Ancient Men site in Changyang Tujia Autonomous County, Southern Xiangcheng Site in Yuan’an County and Li Laiheng’s Fighting against Qing Dynasty Site in Xingshan County, and two historic buildings; Old Houses of Yangjiawan in Yiling District, Stone Houses of Baibaozhai Village in Dangyang County.

  It is also known that, since the first batch of national relic protection units published in 1961, there were fifteen national relic protection units in the city. In addition to the newly listed sites, many other sites also have gained the election in National Relic Protection Units, such as Yuquan Temple and Tower, Guanmiao Temple Mountain, Millstone Mountain Site, Jijiahu Lake City Site, Green Mountain Cemeteries, Guanling Temple, Huangling Temple, Ancient Architectural Complexes of Phoenix Mountain, Three Visitors’ Cave and Former Residence and Cemetery of Yang Shoujing.
