Yichang Central People’s Hospital signed a cooperation agreement on co-construction of the stem cell project in Hubei province with Yinfeng Bioengineering Technology Co, Ltd on Wednesday afternoon. Taking full advantages of their own resources, both sides will set up the first cord blood bank in Hubei province.

     It is explained that stem cell research is one of hotspots of life science and bioengineering research. The application of stem cells has become the effective way for the remedy or cure of leukemia, virosis and hematopoietic system genetic diseases and many other diseases. The investment of project reaches to 100 million. The project, which is expected to be completed in three years, covers establishment of Cell Storage Center, Cell Products Production Preparation Center, Biomedical Transformation Center and the Cord Blood Bank of Hubei province (Briefly called “Three Centers and One Bank”).
