On July 7, it was learnt from the Management Council of Yichang Hi-tech Zone that the Yichang Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government jointly issued a document in recent days. It contains the information that Baiyang Industrial Park in the Zone has been expanded from 80km² to 156km² so that the planning area of the zone has been expanded from the original 11.2km² to 260km².

At present, the Zone contains Dongshan, Xiaoting, Hubei Shenzhen Industrial Park, Baiyang Industrial Park, Biological Industrial Park and Dianjun Electronic Information Industrial Park, covering the area of diversification as equipment manufacturing, fine chemical engineering, biological medicine, new material, etc. In recent years, the annual increasing of economic index of the zone is more than 35 percent. After the integration and expansion, the municipal administrative licensing items as development and reform, business,  construction, environmental protection, safety supervision, housing property and business administration are all examined and approved by the Hi-tech Zone.

It is learnt that a Branch Center of Land Banking and Developing will be established in the Zone, in which there is a platform of investment and financing to construct each parks with the patterns of enterprization and marketization, and undertake the ultimate profit and loss of the development within the managing scope.
