It is known from Municipal Civil Affairs Bureau that Settlement Policies for Retired Soldiers in Hubei Province (Policies for short) will be carried out strictly in Yichang from September 1st.
　　In the new Policies, solders’ attended time will be prolonged from 10 years to 12 years, if they want to get job placement. As stipulated, the retired soldiers whose attended time is over 12 years, who are awarded Personal Merit Citation Class II, Merit Citation in the War Class III or higher, who are identified disability from class 5 to 8, who are children of martyrs can choose jobs given by government.
　　According to the new Policies, local county government should give self-employed retired solders subsidies, the standards of which are on the basis of provincial regulations.
　　The preferential policies for retired soldiers’ entrepreneurial employment have been perfected, covering all self-employed retired soldiers. They can enjoy many benefits, like reduced taxes, small guaranteed loans and so on. If applying to civil servants or posts of public institutions, their attended time can be regarded as grassroots work experience, they will have the priority to posts with the same conditions. If going to adult colleges, full-time universities, second vocational schools and technical schools, they will make it without taking exams or receive awarded marks. (Rreporter Li Feng)
