Recently, Yichang Municiple Bureau for Uraban Planning held an expert meeting about the planning of Yichang Airport Area. Reporters learned that the expert group agreed to have a careful planning of the area in principle. With Sanxia International Airport as its backdrop, it aims to be a perfect area with integrated services, airport logistics, etc.

　　It is learned that the area is divided into north district and south district, mainly for the airport comprehensive services and aviation logistics. The scope of south district is: Airport Road in the east, Fengqiao Road-Zhangjiawan Road-1st Line of Taozichong Road in the south, Houshan Road in the west, Yingbin Avenue-Jingsi Road-the 1st Line of Qilichong Road in the north. The scope of the north district is: Chezhan Road in the south, Zhanqian Road-Zhangjiawanhenglu Road-Zhangjiawan Road in the west, Jichang Road in the north.

　　New Airport with Three Kingdoms Feature

　　Telephone booth, mailboxes, dustbins and other public facilities are characterized by simple design, showing the feature of the modern city. The shapes and colors of the seats and lightings can be designed by combining with the culture of the Three Kingdoms. Future airport new area will be full of modern atmosphere and carrying forward Three Kingdoms Culture at the same time.

　　Land Layout: Two Centers, Two Axes

　　According to the planning, the area will enjoy a diversified layout. With administrative center and ecological green heart as two centers, longitudinal transport development axis along the Zhangjiawan Road and horizontal axis along Yingbin Avenue as two axes, the area has one ecological corridor connecting main landscape. Besides, it has five functional zones, i.e. a comprehensive service zone, an airport logistics park zone, two industrial functional zones and a commercial and residential zone.

　　2500 Motor Vehicle Parking Space Expected

　　In future the road network of the airport area will be shaped as " Four Horizontals, Two Verticals". Briefly speaking, Chezhan Road, Qilichong Road, Yingbin Avenue, Taozichong Road are four horizontal main roads, and Zhangjiawan Road and Airport Road are two longitudinal main roads. Among them, Taozichong Road is a expressway and Zhangjiawan Road will become expressway in the long-term.

　　At the same time, 4 public parking lots, providing 2500 parking spaces, are expected.

　　Fantastic Landscape System

　　It is informed that Changshouhu Lake (Longevity Lake) will be the heart of the airport area, forming an ecological corridor running through the main landscape nodes. Three landscape roads (avenue), Zhangjiawan Road, Airport Road and Yingbin Avenue, will be constructed. The park, the green belt and commercial service facilities in the area will be many landscape nodes. The comprehensive landscape of Yingbin Avenue will serve as a key landscape.

　　A Bird’s View of the City

　　The fifth facade of the city is the overall image from the air, the complete environment made up of the city form, color and the roof of the building. The altitude of the aircraft taking off and landing usually is  at 350m, that’s why it is regarded as the obsavation altitude for view-point, so it is important to build the fifth facade landscape in airport peripheral area. With urban road framwork, greening, square as the "bottom", the independent and unique groups and small plates scattered on the road net(such as parks, wetlands) constitute a "picture", a complete and successional fifth facade of city is formed.
