On August 19, Wang Guobin, the Deputy Mayor, held the afforestation project initiative about the ecological restoration of barren hills in urban area, requesting that the ecological restoration & afforestation project of 3547 hectares of barren mountains be completed in 3 years.

　　The barren hills in urban area mainly refers to the natural hills in the suburb with low ecological benefits and poor landscape. The restoration of 3547 hectares of such hills in Yichang covers park and garden construction, suburb countryside afforestation and citizen voluntary tree planting base.

　　Mr. Wang requests, the restoration of vegetation and quality garden building should be coordinate to advance the afforestation project of barren hills restoration with high standard, high quality and high efficiency; all the engineering planning should be done scientifically; the afforestation project should be done with the methods of project management so as to make each project qualified landscaping; the key issues should be highlighted and the liability subject should be made explicit to accelerate the ecological restoration of urban hills.
