The news conference of China’s top 500 private enterprises in 2013 was held on August 29 in Beijing. At the meeting a series of lists for China’s top 500 private enterprises in 2013, China’s top 500 private manufacturing enterprises in 2013, China’s top 100 private service enterprises in 2013 were announced. It is said that the lists above are issued every year by All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce after extensive investigation into large enterprises in China. We are excited to learn that Yichang’s three enterprises were on the list of China’s top 500 private enterprises in 2013, including Daohuaxiang Group Co., Ltd, Hubei Dongsheng Chemical Group Co., Ltd, and Hubei Zhijiang Liquor Group Co., Ltd, while another four selected as the China’s top 500 private manufacturing enterprises in 2013, they are Daohuaxiang Group Co., Ltd, Hubei Dongsheng Chemical Group Co., Ltd, and Hubei Zhijiang Liquor Group Co., Ltd, and Changjiang High-Technical Cable Co., Ltd.

　　According to the lists, three companies such as Suning Appliance Co., Ltd, Legend Holdings Limited and Huawei come out on top three on the list of China’s top 500 private enterprises in 2013.

　　’s top 500 private enterprises in 2013 is eighteen, three of which come from Yichang, Daohuaxiang Group Co., Ltd ranking the 191 on the list, Hubei Dongsheng Chemical Group Co., Ltd ranking the 397, and Hubei Zhijiang LiquorGroup Co., Ltd ranking the 414; eighteen enterprises in Hubei enter the list of finalists of China’s top 500 private manufacturing enterprises in 2013, among which four belong to Yichang-based enterprises, Daohuaxiang Group Co., Ltd ranking the 126, Hubei Dongsheng Chemical Group Co., Ltd ranking the 244, Hubei Zhijiang Liquor Group Co., Ltd ranking the 255, and Changjiang High-Technical Cable Co., Ltd ranking the 387. Daohuaxiang Group Co., Ltd, because of its total turnover last year of 2.62 billion dollars, ranks number one in Hubei Province

　　Likewise two Yichang-based businesses were on the list of China’s top 500 private enterprises in 2012, Daohuaxiang Group Co., Ltd ranking the 240, Hubei Dongsheng Chemical Group Co., Ltd ranking the 477; four on the list of China’s top 500 private manufacturing enterprises in 2012, Yichang Three Gorges Quantong Coated and Galvanized Plate Co., Ltd ranking the 96, Daohuaxiang Group Co., Ltd ranking the 168, Hubei Dongsheng Chemical Group Co., Ltd ranking the 301, and Changjiang High-Technical Cable Co., Ltd ranking the 465.

　　After close comparison between the two figures of the last two years, we may come to the conclusion that the private enterprises in Yichang tend to gain in their places on the lists mentioned above. But in the meantime as the report released in the meeting warms, given that the constantly growing cost pressure on private enterprises in China were enormous till 2012, they are obliged to change the old growth mode of relying on resource consumption and investment into that of depending on resource saving and innovation, to transform the mode of production of conventional industries that only make low-end and low value-add products into the modern high-end and high value-added commodities.
