It is learned from the Information Office of Hubei Provincial Government that the Ninth China International Folk Art Festival, the Fourth China Yangtze River Three Gorges International Travel Festival as well as the Third China Yichang Yangtze River Piano Music Festival will be held and sponsored by China Federation of Literary and Art Circles (CFLAC), National Tourism Administration, Chinese Musicians Association and Yichang Municipal Government from September 14th to 22nd in Yichang.
“Yichang, as the world-famous capital of hydropower stations as well as the birthplace of both Ba and Chu culture, is capable of fully showing to the outside world Yichang’s charm and new image after over thirty years reforms and opening up by making the most of its rich cultural resources, promoting communication and integration with folk arts in other countries,” said Wang Yinghua, the Deputy Mayor of Yichang . He added that, with the holding of the Three Festivals, we are confident to further improve the city image of Yichang.
And numerous unexpected surprises will certainly add color to these festivals. It is said that the programs of entertainment at the opening ceremony will be well chosen by the directors of CCTV out of professional folk arts groups at home and abroad. Then three hundred and two performers from thirteen countries such as USA, Australia, Russia and Czech Republic, coupled with enthusiastic Yichang citizens, will join the magnificent carnival that you can imagine. Li Yundi, the piano master with international reputation is also invited at the Third China Yichang Yangtze River Piano Music Festival, who will be the most expected to the audience at the“Golden Bell Night” piano solo concert. In addition to that, activities concerning cultural-oriented travel, economic and trade, meetings and seminars that are intended to promote the economic and tourism development in Yichang are on the list of festivals’ schedule as well.
