Yichang has became extraordinarily eye-catching in August.
Focusing on the development of the new districts and high-tech zones, governments of all levels in Yichang started a series of major projects.
These projects, like unceasingly surging rivers, impact on people’s vision and bring the hope of “rising of a big city”.
Such developments have shown a concept that projects are attractions and industries are supports in the acceleration of building modern megcity. Under this circumstance, people have delightedly felt themselves the power of the rise of Yichang with some refreshment and enjoyed the passion of this land.

On August 19th, a simple ground-breaking ceremony was held in the Dianjun District for the second group of 29 projects with investment of 13.75 billion RMB, which was another breakthrough after the massive operation of the first 51 projects in the New District this year.
Since then, Yichang has officially pulled the curtain of “the major projects month” and also ignited a new circle of the upsurge of major projects construction.
On August 26th, 8 major projects with the total investment of 1.64 billion RMB started in Yidu.
On August 28th, 20 major projects with the total investment of 3 billion RMB started in Shenzhen Industrial Park at Xiaoting District of Yichang High-tech Zone, among which 16 are industrial projects, 4 are infrastructural ones, and 12 out of the 20 projects are with investments over 100 million RMB.
On the same day, 5 major projects with a total investment of 5.66 billion RMB started in Yuan’an County.
On August 29th, 16 projects with the investment amounting to 5.45 billion RMB started operation together in Yiling District.
On August 30th, 10 projects with a total investment of 1.54 billion RMB started operation respectively in Changyang and Xingshan.
The tremendous “Yichang power” sparks from the busy project construction.According to the latest statistics from the Municipal Development and Reform Commission, 117 major projects are under the construction in Yichang with the total investment of 37.8 billion RMB, and the planned investment of the year is 10.8 billion RMB.
In terms of the investment scales of projects under construction, there are 66 projects with investment from 100 million RMB to 500 million RMB, 10 projects from 500 million RMB to 1 billion RMB and 8 projects over 1 billion RMB.
Among 6 major industries with hundreds of billion output value, 36 projects are included in the equipment manufacturing industry with the total investment of 7.76 billion RMB; 16 in the food and beverage and biological medicine industry with 6.986 billion RMB; 9 in the modern service industry with 2.301 billion RMB; 7 in the fine chemical industry with 3.45 billion RMB; 3 in the new materials industry with 448 million RMB; 2 in the cultural tourism industry with 575 million RMB.
Additionally, there are 44 major infrastructure and livelihood projects whose investment adds up to 16.279 billion RMB.
The successful launch of these projects makes all Yichang people confident in its future.
Busy construction sites are seen everywhere along both sides of the Yangtze River.
The Pushing power shows the strength of Yichang.
In order to futher enhance the “major projects construction year”, Yichang has identified August as “the major projects month”.
These project are pushed, coordinated and supervised by the city leaders.
Huang Chuping, Secretary of Municiple Party Committee, constantly emphasizes that major projects and enterprises are basis, support and future energy of the megcity.
Ma Xuming, Mayor of Yichang, also definitely indicates that all localities and departments should enhance the activity of “entering enterprises, delivering services amd solving problems”, ensuring the early completion, production and benefits of these projects.
In Yichang, we make every attempt to accelerate the major projects construction to become the real “Top Leadership Project” and “No.1 Project”.
Each municipal leader makes joint efforts to prompt the balance by entering into enterprises and the construction sites.
Meanwhile, with the contributions made by every related department, a series of in-depth advancing system of major projects have been formed.
Leaders of governments of all levels have pushed forward the activity of “entering enterprises, delivering services and solving problems”. In Yidu, the CPPCC members enter the enterprises and the Party members and cadres visit projects.
In Zhijiang, The system of the leading group going into enterprises has been established, which is the system of connecting enterpcrises and projects with government leaders.
In Changyang, with the heated discussion of “the four leadings”, the government organizes and launches the activity of “Fulfilling production task, expanding production scale, increasing profits and efficiency” for industries and enterprises.
At Xiling District, the contact daily record of cadres are built up in enterprises to help them solve problems.
In High-tech Zone of Yichang, The systems of “Enterprise Service Commissioner” and “Project Service Commissioner” are established to prompt major projects to complete on schedule and to make breakthroughs.
Until the middle of July, 571 various problems were collected during the activity, of which 166 were solved on the spot.
In order to make the projects construction go efficiently, the Offices of Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government and related departments have jointly organized six expertise teams for special inspections, making sure that every major project could start, operate and complete on time.

In the “major projects construction year”, Yichang has made much progress as the result of the high-rate industrial growth.
From January to July, investment in fixed assets enjoys consistent rapid growth and the total investment of 111.355 billion RMB has been finished, increasing 32.2 percent, 7.2 percent higher than planned. The total volume keeps second in the whole province, 4.6 percent higher than average.
To realize the “dream of a megacity”, the whole city has formed a common sense that the project construction must be pushed forward energetically in accordance with the standard of “the four first-rates”.
At the end of July, Yichang Three Gorges Logistics Park with the total investment of 1.88 billion RMB officially went into operation, which became the largest-scale comprehensive logistics park in the west of Hubei Province and east of Chongqing Municipality.
At early August, Yichang signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Beijing with Chinese Equipment Group Company, planning to set up Huaqiang Science and Technology Industrial Park in the Biological Industry Park.
In the middle of August, the first-stage project of Hubei Sanning Chemical Industry with annual production of hexanolactam of 200,000 tons officially went into operation. It only took 8 days on the production of hexanolactam from Ammoximation feeding.
On August 26th, Yichang officially reached an agreement with Guanke Electronic Display CO., Ltd. located at Dongshan Industrial Park in High-tech Zone with total investment of 350 million US dollars, which would inject new energy for Yichang economic transition.
Among the major projects, 15 infrastructural projects and 13 resettlement housing projects including the Miaozui Yangtze River Bridge and the 2nd Dongyue Road have been under construction, and the 4th Dongshan Road, Olympic Sports Center, etc. will start operation this year.
The project of Hubei Qingneng Real Estate Group is among the second batch of the construction projects. At the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Zhu Wankui, General Manager of the Group, said they would strictly control quality and schedule and make its own contribution to the effort of building Yichang into a modern megacity. He has not only spoken for investors, but also reflected Yichang’s ambition of promoting great development through large projects.
Looking back the whole August, it can be undoubtedly said that the construction of major projects will become a splendor in the history of Yichang.
