The Mayor MA Xuming hosted the 18th Executive Meeting of Municipal Government of Yichang City on September 9. He emphasized that scientific and technological innovation is not only the inevitable course for leap-forward development, but also an important way to develop high-tech industries, enhance core competitiveness, and build the city brand. He also pointed out that we shall implement the innovation-driven strategy which regarding enterprises as the main body, industries as the core, talents as the support, environment as the guarantee, and speed up the building of innovation-oriented pilot city.

　　In April of this year, Yichang City was approved as national innovation-oriented pilot city by the Ministry of Science and Technology. How to be the “first mover” and how to deepen the city construction? According to the meeting, the development of “six 100-million-worth industries” shall be supported by scientific and technological innovation so as to promote joint development of industries and the city. In addition, we need spare no efforts to solve the prominent problems which restrict the innovation, build regional innovation system, and give full play to science and technology for its leading role in economic and social development.

　　It is also noted that we shall seize this great opportunity to refine supporting policies for innovative enterprises. Meanwhile, we shall give priority to the development of Yichang New District and High-tech Zone, and encourage counties to build innovative parks. We shall also accelerate the building of talent team, create favorable environment for scientific and technological innovation and promote the mechanism construction.

　　It is suggested that scientific and technological innovation lie in talents. Therefore, we shall, under the guidance of Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government of Yichang City, carry out the optimizing supporting measures and service assurance so as to make Yichang a gathering place for talents at all levels. What is more, we shall fully implement “talents program” to bring in talent leaders, talent teams as well as talent service teams.
