It was informed that Meng Jianzhu, Secretary of CPC Central Committee of Political and Legislative Affairs, arrived at Yichang recently to carry out the investigation and hear the reports, during which several points in his speech were underlined including continuing to take the economic development as our central task and to spare no pains to maintain social stability, adhering to the principle of laying much stress on the political education when building up police force, the need of deepening judicial reform, of bringing forth new ideas in the mass work, strenuously improving the work of political and legislative affairs as well as advancing them to a new level.
Meng, together with Zhou Qiang, President of Supreme People’s Court of PRC, Li Hongzhong, Secretary of Hubei Provincial Party Committee, and Wang Guosheng, Governor of Hubei Province, paid a visit to Yichang Municipal Public Security Bureau, Yichang Surveillance Center of Community Grids, Yichang Biological Industrial Park, Angel Yeast Co., Ltd, Parsons Music Group on September 25 in spite of raining. During the visit, they inspected the work of the staff of juridical authority and law-enforcement departments on the spot, inquiring about the construction of juridical personnel, actively listening to the advice and suggestions from the grassroots cadres and masses, showing their sincere respect when meeting with the frontline law-enforcement staff.
Since the public officials working in the juridical authority and law-enforcement departments plays a fundamental role in the work of democracy and rule of law in China, we shall attach high importance to the construction of the juridical personnel. Meng is fully convinced of the statement and has voiced his concerns about this issue on many occasions. He was happy to learn that everything was under control when chatting with the armed police and policemen on duty patrolling on the Three Gorges Dam via a video phone at the Yichang Municipal Public Security Bureau. He also sent his cordial greeting to the heroes and models from juridical authority and law-enforcement departments and expressed his thanks for the people’s hard work of years like them have devoted to. He pointed out that one shouldn’t be easily content with his or her professional quality and professional competence, for a political and legal worker without unshakable faith and political acumen displayed at the critical moment can’t be a real qualified one.
He also said that we shall always apply reform and innovation spirit into every aspect of the political and legal work. We shall integrate the solving of the highlighting problems the public express grave concerns about into the construction of rule of law in China, and make the masses believe in the access to the fairness and justice by dint of further deepening the judicial reform, carrying out the specific rectification in a deep-going way, strengthening the construction of mechanism of law enforcement and judicial system, improving the judicial work style, extending the judicial publicity, giving the administration of justice new credibility.
And the investigation’s priority of Meng’s was to further promote the Party’s mass line education practice activity. At the Surveillance Center of Community Grids, he thought highly of the monitoring system that the Municipal Public Security Bureau had established, that was designed to build Yichang into a most safe city, after hearing the achievement that Yichang Government had made by means of transferring specialized persons into a special group to facilitate co-construction and sharing information resources, settling social conflicts through joint efforts of units concerned, and working in unison of every government department to maintain social stability and safety. He then encouraged them to proceed with fine management and considerate service so that more people would benefit from this system dedicated to the safety of people’s livelihood. Meng said that the mass line is the lifeline of the Party as well as our basic work method, not to mention the combination of the political and legal work and the mass work that was usually regarded as the hereditary treasure of the juridical authority and law-enforcement departments.
During the investigation, Meng also visited Yichang Biological Industrial Park, Angel Yeast Co., Ltd, Parsons Music Group with deep interest. He fully recognized the achievement and good momentum of the economic development with innovation at the period of transformation.
