On October 4th, visitors swarmed into Wang Dayan Rural Inn. Luo Guan, together with his parents, came here for relaxation. He said: “The environment of this rural inn is very elegant and comfortable with the total area of 1000 square meters. Local food here is delicious and it provides fishing and other ball games. After arriving here, my parents wanted to go fishing and I accompany them. After tasting local food, we three played ping-pong for a while. It is relaxing and pleasent.”

　　Currently, more and more people choose to spend their holidays in rural areas. “Many families that returned from scenic spots came and tasted local food together. It is pleasent.” said Mr. Wu, a manager of a rural inn which is near Yiyang Auto Market. In the past years, their rural inns mainly received some tourists from other cites and individual travelers. However, more and more local people come here in recent years. On October 1st and 2nd, they received altogether 800 people. And after October 3rd, they received 100 tourists every day. “Rural inns have been developing for 10 years in Yichang. In the past, it was in a mess. Now this situation has been totally improved.” said the officer in charge of Yichang Municipal Bureau of Commerce. In order to promote better development of rural inns, governments have introduced a series of preferential policies such as financial support of rural inns to encourage farmers to do self-employing. The rural inns in Yichang developed fast in 2003. And at that time, it mainly located in Fazhan Avenue and Wulong Village in Dianjun District. Later, rural inns spread to the suburb of Yichang and area near scenic spots. At first, only more than 10 rural inns have large scales. Now there are over 3000 large-scale rural inns. 〝There used to be many rural inns in Dianjun District. However, the management level of rural inns is uneven. Now the facilities have been improved and rural inns have more recreation activities.〞Zhang Guofeng often receives guests in rural inns due to his work. He said that in the past, the price of some rural inns is equal to restaurants in city and some are even higher with ordinary food and less recreation activities.

　　In recent years, as expanding investments in rural inns, Yichang has awarded “Ten Famous Rural Inns” to add attractiveness to rural inns for their respective feature activities.
