Yichang New District has drawn its own blueprint to expand the city from the east, the south and the north. Yichang East Station Area has been the main area to be constructed in the east. Yesterday, the reporter learnt from the Municipal City Planning Bureau that Regulatory Detailed Planning of Yichang East Station Area (hereinafter referred to as “The Planning”) has passed the experts’ evaluation and is publicized. Citizens can offer advice to the Municipal City Planning Bureau before October 30.

　　It is known that with a total area of 12.24 square kilometers, this area is aimed to construct municipal administrative services, cultural facilities, transportation hubs, trading and ecological living and to promote the comprehensive development of the eastward construction.

　　Layout: Four Axes, One Belt, Six Areas and Two Centers

　　According to The Planning, the layout structure of this area is “Four Axes, One Belt, Six Areas and Two Centers”. Four Axes include two main axes and two secondary axes. Two main axes run through the south and the north of this area, connecting Bailinhe River ecological landscape area, citizens’ centers, and Qiuyutai Greenland Park landscape center which serve as the special landscape axis, and run through the south and east of this area which serves as the main spatial development axis along Dongshan Avenue; while the two secondary axes refer to the area around the Chengdong Road and the Huaxi Road. One Belt is the riverside ecological landscape belt along the Bailinhe River. Six Areas contain the railway commercial and trading area in Yichang East Station, the biological industrial park area in the northeast, the comprehensive area of citizens’ centers, the Bailinhe River landscape leisure area, the ecological living area and the riverside ecological living area. Two Centers refer to the citizens’ center and the railway commercial and trading center.

　　Transportations: Three Vertical Roads and Four Horizontal Roads

　　It is planned to construct three vertical roads and four horizontal roads in a three-level transportation system mode, i.e. “highway-main road-secondary road”. Three vertical roads are the East Station Road, No. 1 East Station Road-Gongyi Road and the Huaxi Road. Four horizontal roads refer to the Chengdong Avenue, Tongqiang Road-Gonglian Road, Dongshan Avenue and Bailinhe Road.

　　Landscapes: Three Axes and Two Nodes

　　In the planning area, it forms the landscape system of “landscape axis--open space--landscape node--riverside greenbelt--green corridor”. Landscape Axes cover one main axis and two secondary axes. The main axis connects the Bailinhe River in the south with the Qiuyutai Park in the north. And the two secondary axes refer to the two landscape axes along Chengdong Avenue and Dongshan Avenue. Open Space consists of the corner squares, the park green land, the riverside green land and so on. Two Nodes refer to the landscape nodes in Qiuyutai Park and the North Bank of the Bailinhe River.

　　In addition, the East Station Hospital with a total area of 11.42 hectares will be built in this area. The East Station High School, Huayan Middle School, Gonglian Middle School, Hongwei Middle School and other six primary schools will be set up there.
