Yichang Olympic Center Located in Qiaobianhe Village, Dianjun District

  At the “Two Sessions” (of the NPC & CPPCC) in Yichang, The Government Work Report of 2013 put forward that in order to realize the simutaneous development of the southern part and the northern part of the Yangtze River, the East Station District and Dianjun District would enjoy a rapid development and the Yichang New District with an planning area of 200 square kilometers and a construction land of 100 square kilometers would be built. The reporter learned yesterday that authorized by Municipal Bureau for Urban Planning, three project sites submissions for Yichang Olympic Center Stadium Area, Yichang Museum and Yichang Plan Exhibition Gallery would be issued.

  It is known that siting of Yichang Olympic Center Stadium Area is in Qiaobianhe Village , Dianjun District which located between the Second Dongyue Road and General Road. The total area of the Olympic Center is 93.9 hectares and the overall floorage is 140 thousand square meters, among which the stadium occupies 50 thousand square meters, a gymnasium takes 27 thousand square meters, a swimming and diving gym covers 25 thousand square meters, a shooting hall takes 10 thousand square meters and a badminton & tennis sports center covers 28 thousand square meters.

  Yichang Museum and Yichang Plan Exhibition Gallery will be located between East Station Road and Bailinhe Road in East Station District. Yichang Museum and Yichang Plan Exhibition Gallery cover an area of 3.3 hectares and 3 hectares respectively. It is learned that the new museum will be formed by 8 special exhibition halls which are the Golden Gorge-River, the Vast Xiling, the Western Chu of Yiling, the Agriculture of Yichang, the City of Heroes, the Hydroelectric Yichang, the Eternal Three Gorges and the Million Migrants. The 8 modern exhibition halls present the world with a vivid historical picture about Yichang City’s human geography from Palaeolithic and Neolithic Age to the late 20th century.
