2013-11-04 10:08:56

On October 28, the reporter learned from the Municipal Environmental Protection Administration that the real-time data of six air quality monitoring stations will be announced in accordance with the new Ambient Air Quality Standards from November 1. Then, the public will know in time the PM2.5 level in the city.

It is reported that the newly revised Ambient Air Quality Standards will be implemented nationwide from January 1, 2016. The new standards take PM2.5, carbon monoxide and ozone into the routine air quality evaluation. This is the first time for China to set standards for PM2.5.

Yichang City has installed PM2.5 monitoring equipments since November, 2011. By commissioning the monitoring equipments in six stations, Yichang City will monitor the air quality through the new Ambient Air Quality Standards. And according to the relevant requirements, the state will carry out the monitoring of PM2.5 in 113 key environmental protection cities and environmental protection model cities in 2013.
