On October 29, it is learned from the Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau that Jiuxian Town of Yuan’an County and two other towns were named "Eco-town of Yichang City", Guanzhuangping Village in Guizhou Town of Zigui County and other 37 villages were titled

　　" Eco-village of Yichang City".

　　In recent years, the City Government has been continuing to strengthen rural environmental protection, to adhere to promoting ecological civilization construction, creating a harmonious livable eco-environment, and building eco-towns and eco-villages actively. In 2013, a total of 52 villages (towns) of the whole city apply for the title. According to assessment standards, recommended by the County (City, District) Environmental Protection Bureau, checked by Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau, and publicized by media, the 41 municipal level eco-villages (towns) were finally stood out.
