It is learnt that Yichang Downtown Medical and Health Facilities Special Planning has been unveiled and is now open for public suggestions till November 30th.

　　Sickbeds Exceeds 21,600 in 2015

　　According to the Planning, by 2015, Medical Institutions in Yichang shall offer on average 4.5 beds per thousand patients with total number of beds no less than 21600 and 2.2 doctors per thousand patients with total number of doctors no less than 10600. By the end of 2030, the numbers will reach 5 to 5.5 beds per thousand patients with total number of beds no less than 26900 to 29600 and 2.5 to 3 doctors per thousand patients with total number of doctors no less than 13500 to 16100.

　　Considering the fact that there are many more hospitals than community medical centers in Yichang, Yichang will establish more community medical centers and specialized hospitals. The bed ratio of comprehensive hospitals, traditional Chinese medicine hospitals (including hospitals of traditional Chinese and Western medicine, traditional Chinese medicine department of comprehensive hospitals), specialized hospitals and community medical centers will be 60:14:14:12.

　　48 Community Medical Centers to Be Set up

　　To promote the construction of “Life Within 10-minutes Walk”，the service radius of community medical centers should be 500 to 800 meters so that residents can walk to the center in 10 minutes. Therefore, the Government plans to build another 11 community medical centers besides the existing 24. Among the 35 community medical centers, 14 are in Xiling District, 6 in Wujiagang District (3 newly-built), 4 in Dianjun District (3 newly-built), 3 (newly-built) in Xiaoting District, 8 in Xiaoxita Town in Yiling District (2 newly-built).

　　According to the Planning, 48 community medical centers will be built, among which there are 10 in Xiling District (3 in Xiling District, 4 in the development zone and 3 in Gezhouba area), 8 in Wujiagang District, 8 in Dianjun District, 6 in Xiaoting District, 5 in Xiaoxita Town, 1 in Three Gorges Dam area, 3 in Longquan Town in Yiling District, 4 in Baiyang Town in Zhijiang City, 2 in Honghuatao Town and 1 in Gaobazhou Town in Yidu City.

　　14 Hospitals to Be Built (Rebuilt)

　　The Planning focuses on the medium-sized and large hospitals of level 2 or above in downtown Yichang and the districts.

　　There are two ways to accomplish this Planning. One is to rebuild. The other is to build. There are altogether 14 hospitals to be newly built, among which there are 2 in Xiling District, i.e. the Second Hospital of Yichang (rebuilt) and Shiban Hospital (newly built), 3 in Wujiagang District including Dongzhan Hospital, Women and Children\'s Hospital and Zhongnan Hospital. 3 hospitals will be newly built in Dianjun District such as Jiangjun Road Hospital, Luojiaba Hospital and Rehabilitation and Recuperation Center. Zhangjiawan Hospital will be newly built in Xiaoting District. Meiziya Hospital will be newly built in Xiaoxita Town.
