Export of Chemical Fertilizer Increases
2013-11-20 14:50:10

On November 13, Yichang Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau notified the media that, during the window period of chemical fertilizer export in 2013, DAP(Di Ammonium Phosphate), as a chemical fertilizer with its export growing substantially, totally was exported 133 batches, attained 510 million dollars and weighed 1.13 million tons, which, on year-on-year basis, increased 329 percent, 168 percent and 227 percent respectively.

This year, there are 13 countries of export destination and 5 export production enterprises increased from original 3 ones. It is learnt that the reason why the export substantially increases is the state’s policy adjustment for fertilizer export in 2013, including the tariff on DAP export at the off-season window period  has been reduced to 5 percent from initial 7 percent and the export window period has been extended one month. On the other hand, domestic DAP has excess production capacity so that about 10 million tons of DAP need to be dealt with through the export.

Just because of this, average export price of DAP in 2013 was only 451 dollars per ton while in 2012 the price of DAP was 559 dollars per ton. Substantially falling of the price nearly results in no profit, even loss for production enterprises. According to some insiders, to promote the sound development of DAP production industry, what is more important is to speed up the industrial transformation and upgrading and strictly control the capacity expansion besides further enlarging good policies for off-season fertilizer export.

DAP is a kind of compound fertilizer including two nutritional <javascript:void(0);> ingredient <javascript:void(0);>s of nitrogen and phosphorus. As a quick-acting fertilizer with high concentration, it applies to all kinds of crops and soil, which can be used as base fertilizer or topdressing.
