Value-added of Scaled Industry Reached Over 100 Billon RMB in First Ten Months

  Yichang Municipal Industrial Economic Situation Analysis Meeting was held in the city proper yesterday, which was attended by Yuan Weidong, the Deputy Mayor of Yichang. It is learned that during the three quarters this year, the industry has kept steady growth and an obvious stabilization with value-added of scaled industry 101.857 billion RMB, better than the provincial average.

  This year, faced with a severe situation of domestic overcapacity, falling export growth and foreign economic downturn, the improving project of middle and small-sized enterprises has been carried out in Yichang, which aims to help the enterprises with financing problems and give aid to those small and micro business. So far, the number of scaled industrial enterprises amount to 1157, over-achieving the annual target with a net increase of 147 to last year.

  The latest statistics shows that during the first ten months of this year, the value-added of scaled industry has reached 101.857 billion RMB with a year-on-year growth of 13.5 percent, 1.8 percent higher than the provincial average and the total industrial output is 358.3 billion RMB with a year-on-year growth of 14.7 percent. The economic scale has been continuous expanding with a stable descending growth, which is still better than the national and provincial averages.

  Besides analyzing the running conditions of city industrial economy and required a larger science and technology input, eliminating excess capacity according to the actual condition and striving for policy support, Yuan Weidong also said that relevant departments should help the enterprises with services and coordinate the allocation of production factors to develop the enterprises. “It should be ensured that the early stated object with a year-on-year growth of total industrial output by over 16.5 percent and a year-on-year growth of industrial added value by over 13.4 percent. Meanwhile, safety production should be emphasized for the steady and rapid economic development of city industrial economy.” said Yuan Weidong. (Reported by Zhao Wei)
