Labor Union Explores New Model for Employees Service

  Since the starting of Service System for Social Management Creation of Labor Union of Yichang, the labor union work of Yichang has entered into the era of intelligence. On Oct 31st, Zou Shengxia, a clerk in the Employees Service Center, received a call from Ye Yongqing, a worker facing with difficulties. Ye said the family can’t afford 1000 treatment fee for her daughter hoping the center offers some help. After receiving the help call, Zou instantly checked Ye’s family information by the service system and the results proved that the family is qualified for the help. Zou said later that before the implementation of the system, such kind of information submitting and checking need at least 3 days.

  The reporter found that in the service center, the information received by the staff will also be shown on the new service system which manages and supervises the working procedure and efficiency of the information for help. The system also has so-called “light remind” function which means if the procedure finishes smoothly in 5days green lights on, 6 days yellow lights( reminding for the deadline), 7 days red lights (warning for overtime). At present, this supervise model has covered all labor organizations at all levels in the city as well as all working staff.

  Yichang is one of the 35 social management creation pilot cities of the country. The Labor Union of Yichang started to participate in the pilot project since 2012.  Relying on 1203 “grid members” from 19 subdistricts and 121 communities as well as the “Labor Union Service Module” in their e-smart phones, they carry out relevant work and visit the workers facing difficulties regularly. At present, group information such as organizing enterprise labor union, labor union system; personal information such as model workers management, workers facing difficulties; assisting information such as employment training and student loans are all demonstrated on the system. It is learned that only in Xiling District, enrollment of 31 migrant children, 151 employment problems and 31 labor disputes have been solved through the service system. Liu Xuepu, Chairman of Yichang Labor Union, points out that the exploration of the labor service system has expanded the information support, service span and working space for labor work, improved staffs’ capability and promoted the change of working manner of labor union cadres.
