Yesterday, reporters learned from the Municipal Housing and Construction Committee that they conducted pre-acceptance of villages which declared for “livable villages” at the beginning of 2013, and they carried out spot checks for the implementation of the dilapidated house transforming in Counties.
It is known that there are 42 villages applying for the construction of livable villages and 23 of them have passed pre-acceptance in accordance with the provincial assessment standards, waiting for final acceptance and nomination by the Provincial Housing and Construction Department. Besides, totally 16 thousand households have completed building renovation. The completion rate, the farmers’ electronic information rate, as well as quality inspection pass rate all reach 100 percent, overfulfilling the tasks given by Central Government.
In recent years, Yichang Government has regarded the construction of central villages and new rural communities as its focus. It encourages farmers to live in communities so as to promote land conservation and share together the infrastructures like roads, biogas, power, water as well as communications facilities. Other measures have also been implemented, such as the centralized water supply, regular garbage removal, centralized sewage collection and treatment, poultry cultivation, etc. Meanwhile, sports facilities and small gardens are constructed. The living environment of villagers is improving now. (Reporter Zhao Wei, Correspondent Chen Feng)
