On November 25, the reporter learned that Yichang City aims to complete all the construction projects of the resettlement housing in Yichang New District within three years. On the basis of a careful analysis of factors such as construction mode, fund channels, construction standards, and construction cost related to resettlement housing, the “one-two-three" objective for the whole construction projects has been worked out, namely, the housing construction projects planned for the year 2013 and 2014 is to be commenced within one year, and the rest are to be built within two years, thus all the construction projects are to be completed within three years. So far, twenty-six projects are either under construction or already being completed, which equal to 37,000 sets of apartments and a construction area of 4.47 million square meters.

　　According to preliminary statistics, the Municipal Government plans to construct 88,000 sets of apartments in Yichang New District, including 63 resettlement housing projects with a total construction area of 10.5 million square meters, and an estimated total investment of 28.8 billion RMB yuan.

　　It is said that Yichang New District has recently decided a planning area of 220 km2, among which 105 km2 will be used as the construction area. By 2015, 100 km2 of the New District will be covered by a network of infrastructure facilities; 240 kilometers of main roads will be built, and 20 million square meters of housing will be completed. Based on the research and analysis, the District decides to construct 224 projects in five years with a total investment of 200 billion RMB yuan. Currently, 154 projects are under construction, with a total investment of 94 billion RMB yuan. It is said that 25.9 billion RMB yuan are to be invested this year. Up till now, the New District has already organized three batches of the initiation of construction projects, involving 92 key projects in total.
