2013-12-12 07:49:23

The Yichang Municipal Transportation Bureau has been constantly optimizing its services and vigorously promoting the integration of urban and rural public transport to create a secure, convenient and comfortable travel environment.

The strategy of giving priority to bus development has been vigorously implemented. From January to September, The Municipal Transportation Bureau has approved 5 city bus lines, and started 4 new bus lines. Therefore, the total number of buses in Yichang reached 1290. In mid-September when the "Bus Trip Awareness Week" started, the Bureau opened the first "Health and Culture Model Line" in Hubei Province, namely, the No. 27 bus line in which passengers could enjoy the scenery of Yichang. Volunteers were organized to enter communities, districts and residential compounds, collecting 93 pieces of advices on optimizing network layout, improving vehicle safety and service quality, and a new line was added, that’s, the No.15 bus from Jindongshan Business Center to Huaxiang Business Center. As for the problems pointed out by the deputy of local NPC, “it’s hard for Gonglian villagers to travel”, the Bureau also coordinated actively and put more buses into running in line No. 2 and No. 21 bus.

The Bureau has actively promoted transformation of rural passenger buses, extended the urban bus lines, and facilitated the integration of urban and rural buses. Currently, 21 rural passenger lines have been opened. And in this year, Yiling District has opened bus lines of No. 62 to 67, 70 and 71 to achieve 100% buses coverage of 25 km radium around Xiaoxita Central District. The frequency and time of No. 68 and No. 63 buses were enforced to solve the problem of transport along the Yanjia River Industrial Park. Meanwhile, the transformation of the No. 106, 107 buses from Xiaoxita to Xiaoting, Longquan was completed, improving the quality of the lines.

The Bureau has deepened the project of "Public Transport to Every Village". From January to September, another 31 villages had access to public transport, among them, 4 in Changyang County, 27 in Zigui County. It is expected that another 12 villages can have access to public transport by the end of 2013, and every village can have access to public transport by the end of 2014.
