A meeting on accelerating the development of husbandry was held on November 27.Wang Xingyu, the vice-secretary of municipal Party Committee of Yichang, presided over the plenum and emphasized that we should promote and implement the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 18th CPC National Congress: Free up the mind, dare to make breakthrough in light of the reality of Yichang. In building the better city in husbandry of central China, we should persist in the theme of "respect science, highlight characteristics". Wang Guobin, Wu Weixing and other city leaders attended the meeting.

　　Participants visited some modern animal husbandry project sites, including chicken base of Yichang, Flourishing Farming Limited Company in Yiling District, professional cooperatives of black goats breeding in Zhijiang Jiahong Company, Hubei Zhengfa Farming Limited Company in Wujiagang District, Zhijiang Zhengnong Farming Limited Company, Zhijiang Xingmao beef cow breeding professional cooperatives. The representatives from Zhijiang County, Yiling District, and three animal husbandry leading enterprises made exchanging speeches.

　　It is pointed out at the meeting that the city\'s modern industrial system and animal husbandry development pattern has taken shape and we have a solid foundation, good conditions, large market and great potential for accelerating the development of modern animal husbandry. Party committees, governments and relevant departments should clarify objectives, and persist in developing the livestock husbandry into a great industry which can support agriculture and benefit farmers.

　　Wang Xingyu stressed that all localities and departments must proceed from the view of overall scope and strategy. We will strengthen coordination service proactively, research policy positively, intensify the measures, and increase financial support and investment. In light of local conditions, we should firmly march on the path of "green, ecologic, qualified and efficient” modern husbandry and strive to innovate breakthroughs continuously, accelerate the leapfrog development and the change of the husbandry model, so as to make a contribution to building a modern mega-city.

　　Wang Guobin requires that we should uphold the "natural, green, and high-quality" concept of development, adhere to structural adjustment, and promote specialty farming. Efforts should be made to advance the industrialization of operations by boosting industrial upgrading, to ensure safety, enhance standardized management, and to continuously improve livestock production capacity and promote sound and rapid development of modern animal husbandry.
