"Yichang\'s poverty alleviation work has achieved remarkable results." The assessment team spoke highly of it on December 6th at debriefing of the regional development of the poorest districts of Wuling Mountain Area and poverty alleviation in Yichang. 　　In 2013, the city has made a big progress in Poverty alleviation in an integrated way like special, specific and social poverty alleviation in accordance with the strategies of government leading, policy emphasis, social support and public participation. Zigui County, Changyang Tujia Autonomous County, and Wufeng Tujia Autonomous County, the three major poor cities of Wuling Mountain Area has significantly increased the farmer\'s income, accelerated the development, improved the public service and enhanced the potential force of development. For example, the per capita net income of the three counties in this area is expected to achieve 5630 Yuan, an increase of 62.8% over 2010.The city has reduced 109,000 poor people in just three years, of which the three counties have reduced 60,000.

　　Assessment team believes that Yichang\'s poverty alleviation work is outstanding. The Municipal party committee and government attach great importance to poverty alleviation which is incorporated into the city\'s center work. All levels of government as well as their counterparts are working with clear plans and specific responsibilities, so they get remarkable achievements. Three counties make efforts to strengthen infrastructure construction, to promote poverty alleviation with the help of industries, to enhance their income creating ability, forming their own distinctive features and achieving an obvious outcome. In addition, they also build innovation mechanisms, integrate resources, explore a variety of modes of poverty alleviation to maximize efficiency of poverty alleviation and complete the hard mission with high-level and quality.
