Recently, Yichang New Material Industry Development Planning (2013-2016), issued by the Municipal Governmental Office, reveals that by 2016, the city’s new material industrial output valve will exceed 100 billion RMB, accounting for over 30 percent of the total proportion of the provincial planning objectives.

　　According to the Planning, by 2016, the Graphite Industrial Alliance with a comparative advantage at home and aboard is going to be built in our city, and the share of the high-end graphite products will be more than 10 percent in the domestic market; and the domestic first-class industrial R&D base of magneto electric material should be set up, the products will have a national and international advanced technology, and the share of the general-purpose magneto electric material and chips will be 50 percent in domestic market and 10 percent in the international market; one of the national functional glass substrates and materials bases as well as the regional silicon material industry chain are also going to be built in our city, which include

　　Hubei Xing Rui Chemical Co., Ltd, Yichang CSG Polysilicon Co., Ltd and other enterprises; and the nation’s largest comprehensive utilization base of fluorine in phosphorus ore should be established, with the domestic share of high-fluoride-based materials over 10 percent.

　　It is learned that 222 new materials projects should be built during the planning period, and the total investment is 49.8 billion RMB. Upon completion, the increased main business income should be 82.9 billion RMB.
