On July 3, Yichang Municipal Government invited some successful entrepreneurs with college educational background to share their career stories at a meeting. Ma Shangyun, Director of Yichang Economic and Technological Development Zone Committee, presented the meeting and communicated with all participants.
Those who told their career stories at the meeting include Qin Yao, Director of Changyang Bafeng Potato Limited Liability Company, who is well known for developing various forms of sweet potato products; Jiang Haipeng, the general manager of Hubei NewStar Food Co., Ltd. who has built the brand from the base level; Huang Rong, the general manager of Shibawan Local Specialties Co., Ltd., who illustrates that a charming lady can also be a successful businesswoman; Qin Jincai, the general manager of Yichang Jin Cai Technology Co., Ltd. and a Master’s degree holder who graduated from China Three Gorges University; Zou Hui, Director of Changyang Balixiang apiculture cooperatives who focuses on Chinese small bee breeding; Su Shungang, Director of Human Resources of Hubei Sanxin Silicon Industry CO., LTD., who devotes himself to the development of the enterprise; Zou Shuang, Vice-minister of ammonium phosphate business department of Hubei Yihua Chemical Industry Co., Ltd.; and Chen Yong, the vice general manager of Yichang Humanwell Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. Yuan’an Branch. All of them shared the feeling that the most wonderful part of their lives lies in having a successful career.
The participants expressed their opinions freely at the forum, and universally acknowledged that the “hardest job haunting time” has brought good opportunities rather than pose problems for Yichang, which has embarked on the road to a modern mega-city, and thus is in greater demand of qualified personnel than before. Currently, in Yichang’s employment structure, the number of employees with college degrees is not big enough. To solve this problem, the municipal government should take effective measures to attract more high-quality college-degree holders to work in Yichang. Great efforts must be made to turn Yichang into the best employment destination in central China for college graduates.
Ma Shangyun held that the relevant departments should vigorously promote these outstanding students in order to inspire current college graduates to seek employment or start their own businesses. He also offered some pieces of advices to those college graduates who want to start their own businesses. For example, he encouraged the students to have a good planning and a clear understanding about the orientation of the enterprise; make progress step by step; to cultivate oneself into a man of integrity and accountability before starting business; attach importance to brand-building as it is an intangible asset; always be innovative; develop best-selling products on the basis of a careful study of the needs of customers; hold onto what you are doing whatever difficulties you meet as it is the only way to success.
