It is learnt on December 22, 2013 that Yichang City will carry out the mentor teaching mode next year. Big hospitals will tie to community health centers and help train their physicians, so as to promote the development of professionals in community health centers. According to related planning, by the year 2015, there will be 2-3 qualified general practitioners and 1 qualified public health doctor for every ten thousand residents in the city.

　　By the year 2015, each health service center in communities will be planned to establish collaborative relationship with 2-3 large- and medium-sized hospitals, train a group of helpful, dedicated and professional community general practitioners, and reach the standard that there will be 2-3 qualified general practitioners and 1 qualified public health doctor for every ten thousand residents. At the same time, the amount of outpatients and emergency patients of health services in urban communities will account for more than 30% of the total of that in all medical institutions within the jurisdiction of Yichang City.

　　By the end of 2015, the city will build 7 health service centers in communities, rebuild 2 community health centers and set up 22 new community health service stations. By then there will be 24 standardized health centers and 42 health service stations in Yichang City.
