Recently, Yichang city has entered the stage to promote and develop green buildings. The implementation plan of green ecological city construction in Dianjun district had successfully been proved and assessed by experts from Municipal Apartment of Housing and Urban - Rural Development. Yichang Vocational Park, Olympic Sports Center, museums, City Planning Exhibition Hall and other projects are designed and built in the light of green architectural standards.

　　As of this year, the committee of Housing and Urban - Rural Development took the lead in a trial of building energy- efficiency and green architecture, making efforts to create a green urban area model, and firmly carried out construction of applied model city of renewable energy buildings, promoting the large-scale application of renewable energy like solar energy, terrestrial heat etc. in construction. In April, Yangxinhua office building which passed the appraisal and audit of Housing and Urban - Rural Development Department and achieved the "Two Star" design mark of green architecture became Yichang\'s first green architecture project; In May, public rental housing in Xiaoting district which also passed the assessment and achieved "Two Star" design mark became the first provincial green building demonstrative project in terms of security housing; In June, the city\'s first public building energy consumption dynamic monitoring system was finished. The subentry measures monitoring system of construction energy consumption of Municipal Urban Construction Investment Company\'s office building was installed and connected with internet, making it possible to successfully transmit all kinds of remote energy consumption measurement data to provincial monitoring platform of construction energy consumption. According to statistics, the city contributed to an extra increase of energy saving amount in total of 65,200 tons standard coal, with energy saving construction area covering 4.56 million square meters, renewable energy construct applied area reaching 2.638 square meters and green building area covering 222,34 square meters.

　　It was introduced by the Municipal Housing and Construction Committee that, by the end of the “Twelfth Five Year Plan”, the municipal public building energy consumption monitoring platform will be initially built in the city to realize a real-time monitoring of energy consumption, which will dock with the provincial platform for the monitoring, analysis and assessment of the energy consuming-efficiency to tap the potentials of energy efficiency and lay foundation for the implementation of energy-saving and the construction of green city.
