It has recently been learned from the Municipal Water Resources Bureau that "the Water Function Zoning in Yichang" has been approved by the municipal government, who asked local authorities to strengthen leadership, to cooperate closely, to increase investment, and tomake plans and perfect management so as to ensure that 80% of water in the function zone will meet the quality standard by 2015.

　　It is said that the "Water Function Zoning in Yichang" is a two-level system with a total of 85 first-level water function zones and 46 second-level zones. The first level of the water function zone has four kinds, namely the protection zone, the reserve zone, the developing and utilization zone, and the buffer zone. The second level subdivides the developing and utilization zone of the first level into 7 kinds, namely the drinking water source zone, the industrial water zone, the agricultural water zone, the fishery water zone, the landscape and recreational water zone, and the transition zone and the sewage control zone.
