On 6th Jan., 2014, it’s learnt from the Twenty-fifth Session of the Standing Committee of Yichang Municipal Government that 30 extremely poor villages with backward infrastructure and low income for villagers are selected and listed on the Poverty Alleviation Project which is launched in January 2014 and will be assessed at the end of 2015.

　　These villages are as following: in Zigui County, these are Longtanwan, Shuitianba Township; Hetaoping, Xietan Township; Beifeng, Quyuan Town; Shizhu and Jiuwanxi Town. In Changyang County, these are Longping, Yuxiakou Township; Wujianshan, Duzhenwan Town; Guping, Yazikou Township; Leyuan and Langping Town. In Wufeng County, these are Songmuping, Niuzhuang Township; Chayuan, Wantan Township; Tianjiashan, Fujiayan Township; Nanmuqiao and Caihua Township. In Xingshan County, these are Shuangyan, Gaoqiao Township; Xianshui, Gufu Town; Lianghe, Nanyang Town and Huangjiaqian, Zhaojun Town. In Yuan’an County, these are Weijiachong, Hualinsi Town; Pengjiagou, Yangping Town and Chaoyang, Hekou Township. In Yiling District, these are Nanchawan, Fenxiang Town; Zhemuping, Sandouping Town and Jiaozhanya, Wuduhe Town. In Dianjun District, these are Shangfengjian, Qiaobian Town; Zhujiaping, Qiaobian Town; Hulishu, Xijiatang and Sanjianxi, Tucheng Township. Baijiatang, Niejiahe Town, Yidu County-level city, Xujiazui, Anfusi Town, Zhijiang County-level city, and Baishigang, Yuxi Town, Dangyang County-level city are also included.

　　For now, Yichang Municipal Government designated each of these villages a city-level administrator as liaison, and arranged each village a working crew to lead and organize the implementation of the Poverty Alleviation Project. Meanwhile, it also organizes companies, caring people and all kinds of social force to participate in this project. Besides, on the basis of financial support from superior department, the Municipal Financial Sector will put 15.000.000 RMB on budget to support this project.

　　To realize the goal of strong agriculture, beautiful rural area and better off villagers, and to help those destitute people better off with others, Yichang Municipal government attach great importance to the implementation of the “415” working mode, that is , 4 different departments including city level government, county level government, township government and village committee will make joint effort and 10,000,000 RMB will be integrated for these thirty villages to help them solve 5 outstanding problems: traffic problem, water supplies, housing problem, industrial development  and public service. It is hoped that in two years of poverty alleviation course, infrastructures in these villages such as traffic, water supply and communication will get largely improved, the overall appearance of villagers’ housing will be better, the development tendency of village industries will be clear and public service as well as living standard of the villagers will be greatly elevated.
