On the afternoon of January 13, Hubei Tourism Administration released at a press conference the results of 2013 visitor satisfaction survey conducted by Tsinghua University. The results show that the overall visitor satisfaction index for Hubei Province in 2013 was 77.2, with an increase of 0.4 compared with the previous year.
According to the survey, the top six cities are Yichang (82.7), Wuhan (81.0), Shiyan(79.8), Suizhou(78.6), Xianning(78.4) and Huanggang(78.4). On the average, the satisfaction level for seventeen cities and autonomous prefectures in Hubei Province has gone up when compared with last year, with the following four cities, namely, Xiaogan, Wuhan, Jingzhou, and Shiyan, witnessing a bigger increase. The top ten counties are Yiling District (84.3), Hongan County (83.5), Chibi (83.0), Danjiangkou (81.9), Jingshan (81.6), Wuchang District (81.5), Macheng (79.8), Zigui (79.4), Huangpi District (79.0) and Zhongxiang (78.2).
In terms of survey items, the tourist satisfaction level for star hotel services and travel agency services is still among the top two, with the same score of 78.5. The satisfaction level for the other items rank in the following descending order: overall tourism environment (78.3), tourism-related public services (77.7), accommodation services (76.5), tourist transport services (75.5), services offered within tourist spots (75.4), tourist-entertainment services (75.3), shopping services (75.1), catering services (75.1), among which the tourist satisfaction indexes for travel environment and tourist accommodation services have improved significantly compared with last year.
The survey results reflect that the tourism-related public services of Hubei Province still need to be improved, the tourist catering and accommodation services need to be regulated, and tourist transport service needs to be perfected.
The relevant officials of Hubei Tourism Administration points out that the ultimate goal of tourism development is to enhance tourist satisfaction level, and Administration will unswervingly follow the principle of “making people more satisfied”, continuing and improving the work of visitor satisfaction survey, enhancing the application and transformation of the results, and steadily promoting the tourist service quality.
It is learned that this is the second press release following the first release of 2012 visitor satisfaction survey results, which indicates that the release of visitor satisfaction survey has already become a routine.(Reporter: Dong Hongjing, Xu Zhanglei)
