Recently, Yichang Development and Reform Commission and Administration Office of Major Public Construction Projects revealed that 100 municipal key projects are planned to be launched with an annual investment of 55.8 billion RMB and a total investment of 194.9 billion RMB, covering advanced manufacturing, modern services, infrastructure, social development, etc.
In recent years, determining to make big, strong and effective investment and pivoting on project construction, Yichang carried out the "major projects constructing year" activity. In 2013, 120 municipal key projects were carefully launched, 57 projects of which fulfill or overfulfill the annual investment plan and a large number of projects have entered production phase. The Three Gorges logistics park with a investment of 1.88 billion RMB is open to the public and Zhijiang Aoumei Medical Equipment Industry Park, with a investment of 10 billion, has gone into production ......
Because of the city\'s economic construction guideline of "development, innovation and high quality”, among the 100 key projects, there appear 54 projects which belong to“the 6 over-100-billion-RMB industries". Moreover, traditional industry projects which enjoy over 2 billion investment and strategic emerging industry projects with investments of around 500 million RMB or 1 billion RMB are also included. The Three Gorges Natural Medicine Technology Park, the Three Gorges Medical Technology Park and Nanpo Flat Panel Display are all key projects.
This year, 21.64 billion RMB is planned to invest the projects of Yichang New District, taking up 1/3 of the total investment. The city infrastructure projects including Miaozui Yangtze River Bridge, Dongyue NO.2 Road, Huaxi Road and a number of complex projects, involving Wahaha shopping plaza, Binjiang Business Centre, Yuexing International Plaza draw great attention. In addition, Baokang-Yichang Express Way, Yichang-Zhangjiajie Express Way, Yueyang-Yichang Express Way, Ziyun Local Railway and other major transportation projects are on the list this year.
In recent years, the principle that people’s livelihood comes first has become a highlight in the key projects plan such as Kitchen Waste Food Treatment which will root out "gutter oil", "Swill pig" and other food safety issues, "Urban Mining" Resource Recycling Project aiming to establish an industrialization mode of turning waste into treasure after garbage sorting, the building of cancer hospital with a investment of a billion to bring citizens health benefits, Canal regulation, resettlement housing construction, water supply and sewage facilities construction etc.
Recently, the Municipal Party Committee and Municipal government issued Views on Innovating System and Mechanism of Key Projects Promotion, creating the system that the municipal leaders directly serve for the 100 key projects.
