Transforming to Innovation and Research: A production Line Controlled by One Person
The reporter noticed at Yichang Xiaoting Fine Chemical Industry Park of Xingfa Group that only one worker was operating the huge Xingfu electronic grade phosphoric acid production line.
The operator Li Cheng said that this production line can produce 4 tons of electronic grade phosphoric acid per hour.
Li, who was supposed to be very busy, said with ease: "I am able to control timely through the data on the big screen because over 400 control points on the line are operated by the machines.
With an annual sale of over 10 billion RMB, the chemical industrial park is to make sure that electronic grade purity reached up to a billionth level. It also introduced Emerson intelligent control system from the United States and developed the unique production line in China. The national standard of electronic grade phosphoric acid was also established jointly by Xingfa Group and National Semiconductor Industry Association. "Without technological innovation, the enterprise transition is empty sentence", said Li Guozhang, Chairman of Xingfa Group.
Supported by the platforms of National Enterprise Technical Center, National High-tech Enterprise, National Science and Technology Commercial Innovation Base and so on, Xingfa Group has implemented five key national technical projects and has been the biggest producer of food-grade sodium tripolyphosphate and sodium hexametaphosphate in the world.
It\'s just an epitome that enterprises in Yichang realize the transition dream through technical innovation.
The enterprises like Yihua, Angel, Hec Group, Humanwell Pharmaceutical and Heixuanfeng Aluminum Enterprise that have won world fame are good examples of transformation and upgrading through technological innovation. Amidst the fierce international competition, the product output in Yichang has created 6 No.1s in the world, 2 in Asia, 11 in China, 7 in Hubei. 63 enterprises have been newly identified as national high-tech enterprises.
Transformation of Technique Application: Rebirth from a Breakup
A year ago, Jiangxi Pingxiang Iron and Steel Company ended a ten-year strategic partnership with Yichang Coking Gas Company. The reason is simple: the latter produced poor-quality coke.
Feng Yaping, the General Manager, recalled the painful experience: "poor-quality product stands no ground in competition". A fight for improving quality started.
Quality gives birth to management. During the monthly quality-control check, the company has improved procurement quality standards of raw coal and guarded the first pass of sampling inspection and analysis, strengthened the implementation of operating instructions under a whole-process monitor, organized project teams and thoroughly remolded equipment through high technology.
After a-half-year effort, its technical indicators of coke product jumped from the third level to the first level and eventually became popular goods. Last August, Yichang Coking Gas Company was on the high quality customer list of Pingxiang Iron and Steel Company. Subsequently, the company attracted Jiangsu Sha Gang Group and other leading steel enterprises in the country to come for cooperation.
Similar to technical transition of Yichang Coking Gas Company, Tianxia Sturgeon Company\'s original patented technology of keeping sturgeons helped many farmers make a fortune.
At Yuyangxi Village in Honghuatao Town in Yidu, Lu Wuyi\'s basement in severe winter was as warm as spring. The breeding sturgeons swam to and fro in the pond with banana trees and water hyacinth blooming.
He applied the original patented technology---"ecological energy-saving industrial fish farming flat dual circulation water treatment system" to raise sturgeons for 9 months and gained an income of over 30,000 RMB. He did accounts: compared with a traditional fish pond, the new one saved 95% of water and 75% of electricity, but its efficiency was 100 times that of traditional farming when raising one kilogram of fish.
Last year, Yichang achieved a high tech industrial added value of 31.8 billion RMB, increasing to 11.3% of GDP.
Transformation of Eco-environment Protection: Green GDP from one Mechanism
Last December 30, assets disposal personnel in original Hubei Changsong Metal Products Company, which applied backward technology to steelmaking, submitted acceptance data of eliminating outdated production facilities to Zhijiang Economy & Information Bureau and applied for national special subsidies.
A driving and reversing mechanism was built up in Zhijiang for scale enterprises, 11 of which were knocked out of the game. Among them, 124 sets of facilities in an amino acid company were dismantled owing to excessive emissions. 6 enterprises were closed for mismanagement and severe insolvency <app:ds:insolvency>. 3 highly polluting corporations were closed because they failed to reach the standard of environmental management.
At Zhicheng Town in Yidu City, the reporter observed that Yihua Chuxing Chemical was accelerating phosphate <app:ds:phosphate> <app:ds:and> compound <app:ds:compound> fertilizer <app:ds:fertilizer> building project. They demolished chemical production lines of backward technology and serious pollution and built new projects based on zero discharge of sewage such as the global leading environmental protection low-temperature heat recovery technology and acid sewage treatment plant. Yihua Chuxing Company accomplished the project at the cost of 1.2-billion-RMB output value, 500-million-RMB scrap value of fixed assets and additional 1 billion RMB for construction.
Last September, Yichang Ezhong Chemical invested 89 million RMB to deeply develop nearly ten million tons of accumulational phosphorus slag over the years in Zhicheng Town and turned waste into environment-friendly products like plasterboard.
Ma Xuming, Mayor of Yichang City, said that energy consumption per unit GDP fell by 5% and land consumption by over 8%. In addition, there were 139 projects for energy conservation and emissions reduction, which brought the city on the express way to the green development last year.
Yichang’s practical transition is a magic key to deal with the complicated macro environment and to reduce the pressure of economic downturn. In 2013, the city witnessed an industrial added value of 133 billion RMB, an increase of 13.6%. Fine chemical and food biological medicine became two industries with an output value of over 100 billion RMB.
Huang Chuping, Member of Hubei Provincial Standing Committee and Secretary of Yichang Municipal Party Committee, stated that relying on its “advance”, “transition” and “excellence ”, Yichang will drive the reform and development of the whole province and even the country, and take the lead in “building a supporting point and being at the forefront” in Hubei.
