1.8 billion Yuan Spent During 7-day Spring Festival

  On February 7, it was learned from the Municipal Commercial Department that abundant goods were supplied in active Yichang market at stable prices during the 2014 Spring Festival. The total retail sales of social consumer goods reached 1.83 billion Yuan, with year-on-year increase of 10%.

  The Spring Festival purchases and New Year gifts increased by more than 20%

  The consumption by the citizens soared during the Spring Festival. The whole market was in abundant supply and brisk trade. The price of cooking oil and poultry rose slightly but the rate was significantly lower than the same period of last year; the price of vegetables, meat, dairy products and some other necessities was stable with a slight decline.

  During the festival, all the supermarkets and hotels in whole city put holiday goods on the market at total value of 3 billion Yuan. The supply of necessities was particularly adequate. As group consumption reduced significantly, public consumption soared greatly. The consumption of the Spring Festival purchases and New Year gifts increased more than 20%.

  The average daily retail sales was over 45 million Yuan

  According to the 2014 Spring Festival daily summary data has shown in the city\'s market monitoring system that the average daily retail sales of necessities reached more than 453,200 Yuan during the Spring Festival. Among them, food sales accounted for the top; the consumption of the Spring Festival purchases and New Year gifts increased greatly; the popular dairy food and wine remained strong sales; all kinds of vegetables and meat were in rich supply and fully met the market demand; the consumption of communication appliances, gold jewelry and cosmetics remained stable; while the consumption of clothing and footwear was lower than the same period of last year due to the warm climate. Rural market was more active and the rural consumption showed a steady growth with food consumption accounted for 80%. The total retail sales of social consumer goods was expected to exceed 500 million Yuan.

  Catering, family reunion dinner and agritainment boomed

  According to the staff of the Municipal Commercial Department that during the Spring Festival, the number of foreign tourists and people who returned home to visit relatives increased, but the accommodation industry was relatively stable, with an average occupancy rate of nearly 50%.

  Compared with off-season before the Spring Festival, the catering industry rebounded during the Spring Festival. According to Xiazhou Hotel, Guomao Hotel and Shalongyan Hotel, the family reunion dinner on New Year’s Eve and the Spring Festival dinner were in full orders. The catering business at agritainment sites around were booming. More than 10,000 tourists visited Yuquan Temple only on the first day of the new year. The Three Gorges Tribe and the Three Gorges Dam were also crowded with tourists and every agritainment site opened its door to provide accommodation and catering services

  E- consumption hit 6.5 million Yuan

  It was learned that shopping centers and supermarkets, including Wushang and CBD, launched a series of promotional activities. also launched various promotional activities.

  Meanwhile, the Spring Festival market also became a climax of electronic business. According to commercial department statistics, 10% of family reunion dinner order at New Year\'s Eve was conducted through online platform. Guomao Group launched “Guomao Group” to exhibit the Spring Festival purchases online, which promoted the integration of electronic business sale. The circular consumption mode of “electronic consumption” was closely related to people’s life.
