The construction of Bus Rapid Transportation (BRT) system the people have longed for years will begin soon in Yichang. Yesterday, it was learned that the transformation of Dongshan Avenue and the construction of BRT project will be officially launched on Feb. 25.

　　It was introduced that the excavation and construction of three underpasses (located in World Trade Center, Yunji Tunnel entrance and Orchard Road No.1), from Dongshan Avenue, Xiling Road No. 1 to Guoyuan No. 1 Road, will be done at first. The project is divided into 3 phases, and during the first phase, the driveway will be closed for construction. During the construction, traffic control will be implemented at some road sections and some bus routes will be adjusted.

　　Announcement of Traffic Safety Administration during the first construction stage of Three Underpasses from Dongshan Avenue, Xiling No. 1Road to Guoyuan No. 1 Road ----by the Traffic Police Detachment of Yichang Public Security Bureau

　　The transformation of Dongshan Avenue and the construction of the BRT project will be officially launched on Feb. 25, 2014. The excavation and construction of three underpasses (located in World Trade Center, Yunji Tunnel entrance and Guoyuan No.1 Road, from Dongshan Avenue, Xiling No. 1 Road to Guoyuan No.1 Road will begin in the early stage. The construction is divided into 3 stages, the first stage is closed construction. To ensure the traffic security, according to the Law of the Road Traffic Safety of the People\'s Republic of China and it’s Implementation Regulations, the road traffic safety management measures during the first stage of the construction of three underpasses is announced as follows:

　　1. Road Control Principles: “timely traffic control and partly traffic flow diverge”. During closure of the driveway, vehicles from west to east (namely from Gezhouba to Wujiagang) are allowed to pass through a temporary channel by side of World Trade Center, Vehicles from east to west (namely from Wujiagang to Gezhouba) are allowed to pass through a temporary channel by side of Zhuoyue Square.

　　2. Traffic Organization: (1) vehicles from east to west along Dongshan Avenue take the following routes:

　　A. Vehicles going to No. 2 Xiling Road and Gezhouba will be diverted to pass through the Stadium Road, Yiling Avenue and Yanjiang Avenue etc. Vehicles passing through the construction site of Guoyuan No.1 Road are required to move along the road in front of the railway station.

　　B. Public vehicles going to Xiling No.1 Road or Yunji Tunnel from Dongshan Avenue (from east to west) are allowed and should yield to buses.

　　C. Vehicles going to Yunji Road and World Trade Center along Dongshan Avenue (from east to west) should detour at Yiling Avenue and other roads in advance at the intersection of Shengli No.3 Road and that of  Shengli No. 4 Road respectively.

　　(2) Vehicles from Dongshan Avenue and Yunji Tunnel or from Yunji Road to Yunji Tunnel will go to Development Zone through Lvluo Road, Xiling No. 2 Road, Shengli No.4 Road, Stadium Road and Gangyao Road, or through Yiling Avenue, Shengli No.4 Road and Dongshan Avenue and turning right to Yunji Tunnel.

　　(3) No vehicles are allowed to temporary dock and park in the motorway from Dongshan Avenue Xiling No.1 Road to Shengli No.4 Road.

　　(4) During the construction, no roadside parking is allowed at Guoyuan No.1 Road, Guoyuan No.2 Road, and Guoyuan No.3 Road, and traffic can go both ways for the convenience of the neighborhood residents.

　　(5) No left turn to /from Dongshan Avenue and Yiling Avenue to/from Guoyuan No.1 Road, No left turn to /from Dongshan Avenue and Yiling Avenue to/from Guoyuan No.2 Road, No left turn to /from Dongshan Avenue to/from Guoyuan No.3 Road, No left turn to /from Dongshan Avenue and Yiling Avenue to/from Guangchang Road

　　(6) Some of the bus routes and bus stops will be adjusted as follows:

　　No. 6 Bus, originally going from Jin Dongshan Market to Starry Night, which turns left from Dongshan Avenue to Yunji Road, will be adjusted as: from Doshan Avenue to Xiling No.1 Road, Yiling Avenue, Yunji Road. Two bus stops (No. 16 Middle School, Xia Zhou Hotel) will be added, the Railway Station Stop will be canceled. The bus stops from Starry Night to Jin Dongshan will remain unchanged.

　　No. 27 Bus, going from China Railway 7th Group to Yiling Square,  which turns left from Doshan Avenue to Yunji Road originally, will be adjusted as: from Dongshan Avenue to Shengli No.4 Road, Yiling Avenue, Xiling No.1 Road. Two bus stops (Retired Cadres Center, Yunji Road) will be added. Two bus stops (the Long-distance Bus Station and Railway Station) will be canceled. The bus stops from Yiling Square to China Railway 7th Group will remain unchanged.

　　The special bus route of Hubei Three Gorges Polytechnic, going from Hubei Three Gorges Polytechnic to Yiling Square, which turns left from Dongshan Avenue to Yunji Road, will be adjusted as: from Dongshan Avenue to Shengli No.4 Road, Yiling Avenue. Two bus stops (Retired Cadres Center, Yunji Road) will be added. Two bus stops (the Long-distance Bus Station and Train Station) will be canceled.

　　No. 4 Bus, going from Three Wharf to the Yangtze River Market, which turns left from Yunji Road to Doshan Avenue originally, will be adjusted as: from Yunji Road to Yiling Avenue, Xiling No.1 Road, Dongshan Avenue.  Two bus stops (Xia Zhou Hotel, Yiling Square) will be added. The bus stop of Railway Station will be canceled. The bus stops from Yangtze River Market to Three Wharf will remain unchanged.

　　No. 22 Bus, going from Longkang Road to Xiba, which turns left from Yunji Road to Dongshan Avenue originally, will be adjusted as: from Yunji Road to Yiling Avenue. The stop of Xia Zhou Hotel will be added. Two bus stops (Train Station, No. 16 Middle School) will be canceled. The bus stops from Xiba to Longkang Road will remain unchanged.

　　The buses going from Yunji Road to Yunji Tunnel and those turning left from Dongshan Avenue to Yunji Tunnel (including No. 12, No. 20, No. 23 and No. 31) will turn round at the Special temporary turning point in Zhuoyue Square and then pass Yunji Tunnel, the bus routes will remain unchanged.

　　During the construction, the stop of World Trade Center at Dongshan Avenue will be canceled for No.9, No.11 and No. 101 buses. The two way bus stops from Yiling Avenue to Guoyuan No.1 Road will be canceled.

　　The non-motorized vehicle lane from Yiling Avenue Yunji Road to Shengli No.4 Road will be changed into bus priority lane, and other vehicles should yield to buses. Public transport vehicles are not allowed to move and park on the motorway.

　　In order to ensure the transportation safety during construction, please consciously abide by the relevant laws and regulations, and follow the guidance of police and road traffic police on duty.
