February 24 is the final day of 2014 Spring Festival Travel Season. The reporter learned from the Municipal Spring Festival Transport Administration Office that the Spring Festival Travel Rush, from Jan.16 to Feb. 24, went on smoothly, with 7.83 million trips made in Yichang safely via roads, railways, ships and airlines, a 2.2% decline compared with the same period of the previous year. However, the passenger flow of Yichang East Railway Station and Three Gorges Airport rose by 17% and 54% respectively, and both hit all-time high. The high-speed means of transportation have become the first choice for more and more people.

　　In general, a total of 6.35 million trips were made on roads, falling by 6.5% compared with last year; 1.2 million were by train with an increase of 17%. The railway transportation also hit the record high of daily passenger transportation capacity by transporting 48,742 passengers in one day; 126,000 trips were via waterway, nearly the same as last year; 154,000 trip were made by air, up 54 percent from the previous year.
